Chemical Peels

CHEMICAL PEELS

There are many different formulations that allow us to work on various depths and issues of the skin. Chemical peels are commonly used on the face, but are safe enough to use on the neck, chest, back, arms, legs and many other parts of the body. During your consultation, we will assess the color, depth, location and texture to determine which peel is best suited for your needs.

types of chemical peels we offer:

  • Glycolic Acid
  • Jessners
  • Phenol
  • Salicylic Acid
  • Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA)

how chemical peels work

Your dermatologist will cleanse your face thoroughly to remove any excess oils, thus allowing the deepest penetration possible. The solution is then applied over the area to be treated; a slight burning sensation may occur, but this effect can be reduced by a fan blowing cool air in the area. Finally, your dermatologist will apply an acid neutralizer, and the solution will be completely washed off with cool water. You will begin to notice the effect of the exfoliation a few days after the initial treatment, flaking and peeling are expected. Healing, downtime and post care will be different for each chemical peel.
