SUBCISION FOR SCARS
This procedure improves acne scarring or any scar that is depressed below the normal skin level. These divots occur due to tethering of the scar to deeper tissue. The procedure can typically be performed on a single depressed lesion or on dozens of acne scars in one sitting.
the subcision procedure
The areas are marked and then numbed with local anesthesia. A special blade is used to create a pocket beneath each scar that releases any tethering and creates new scar tissue below the scar. It is not uncommon to see a improvement of each scar with a single subcision treatment. Multiple treatments are typically required to achieve the dramatic outcome that patients thought they could never achieve. The combination of subcision with microneedling has proved to be one of the most effective acne scar treatment to date.
