HOW MICRONEEDLING WORKS
You will be asked to arrive around 60 minutes prior to your scheduled treatment time to apply topical numbing (the perfect opportunity to read a book, work on some emails or catch up on American Skin Institutes Instagram). Once you’ve finished numbing, you will be asked to sit or lie down depending on the area to be treated. The provider will then begin to use the dermaroller which will cause micro punctures to the skin using small needles to prick the skin. Once the skin begins to heal itself, you will begin to generate new collagen and skin tissue. Redness, flaking and peeling are expected over the next week.
BENEFITS OF MICRONEEDLING
It’s mostly used on the face and improves conditions like acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, loose skin, pore size, brown spots, stretch marks, and pigment issues. Microneedling is mainly known for being one of the most cost effective skin texture treatments out there and requires minimal downtime compared to our other procedures. This is a great treatment for someone that does not need an aggressive treatment, has no downtime availability and is looking for something a little more affordable.
