Skin Cancer Prevention

Our dermatologists are experts at identifying abnormal moles and skin marks that might not seem suspicious to the untrained eye. Regular skin checks are recommended every 12-24 months for everyone, and more frequently if you have a history of skin cancer or other risk factors. Early detection is crucial since skin cancer is usually not life-threatening when caught early on. In addition to regular check-ups, we offer advanced treatments for precancerous conditions like Actinic Keratosis (AKs). These include blue-light photodynamic therapy (PDT), which uses a photosensitizing agent and a special light source to destroy abnormal cells, and cryotherapy, which involves freezing AKs with liquid nitrogen.

These treatments are highly effective in preventing the progression of precancerous lesions to skin cancer, ensuring your skin stays healthy and cancer-free. If you notice moles or spots that are asymmetrical, multi-colored, changing, or sores that don’t heal within a month, come see us promptly for evaluation and treatment.
