benefits
Fraxel is non-invasive laser that provides a wide array of treatment options to address many forms of aging and pigmentation, customized to your individual needs and concerns, and typically with minimal recovery time!
difference between fraxel dual and fraxel light?
fraxel dual
Fraxel Dual is a great treatment for moderate sun damage, fine lines and texture irregularities of the skin. The Fraxel treatment promotes remodeling of the skin and stimulates the production of new skin cells. The result is skin that appears smoother and healthier.
fraxel lite
Fraxel Lite is similar to the Fraxel Dual, but uses less energy and allows for a faster recovery. It is perfect for skin showing early signs of sun damage and fine lines and for maintenance treatments between more aggressive therapies. The Fraxel Lite treatment still uses Fraxel technology to create microscopic laser columns to treat the skin surface. Since the energy of the treatment is lower, the skin heals faster. Fraxel Lite allows for very little downtime that usually consists of light redness of the skin which typically resolves over 24-72 hours.
how does it work?
Fraxel targets aging and sun-damaged skin with microscopic laser columns that penetrate deep into your skin to expedite your body’s remodeling of collagen. This treatment resurfaces your skin by stimulating the growth of new, healthy skin cells from the inside out.
how many treatments are needed?
Results are usually visible after one treatment, but for optimal improvement, we suggest a minimum of 5 treatments per area.
what areas can be treated?
- Face
- Neck
- Chest
- Back
- Shoulders
- Arms
- Hands
does it hurt?
Our providers will apply a topical anesthetic until fully numb to minimize any discomfort, most patients handle this procedure very well.
are there side effects?
You will experience mild redness and light peeling/flaking for several days after treatment.
downtime
Warm sensation 2-3 hours after treatment, similar to a sunburn. Redness, mild swelling, darkening of skin and small brown dots. Dryness, peeling and flaking 5-7 days after treatment. For areas other than the face, it may take up to 2 weeks.
Due to the Fraxel lasers fractionated technology, micro sections of the skin are left virtually untouched, therefore resulting in a faster healing period. Most patients resume normal daily activities immediately after their treatment. We recommend avoiding strenuous activities the evening after the procedure, but you will have no additional restrictions on physical activity after that. Strict sun avoidance is mandatory, and we recommend avoiding tanning of the skin for at least one month after.
