This information provides general aftercare guidelines. If your provider has given you specific instructions, please follow those recommendations. If you are unsure or have any questions about your aftercare, please contact our office for further guidance.

Normal Temporary Side Effects:

• Redness and swelling.
• Tenderness.
• Mild bleeding

What to avoid:

• Do not remove earrings for six weeks.
• Touching or twisting the earrings to reduce the risk of infection.
• Swimming in pools, hot tubs, or lakes for a few weeks to prevent exposure to bacteria.

For the first six months after the healing period, do not go longer than 24 hours without earring to prevent holes from closing.

Aftercare:

*Do not handle ears unless you have washed your hands*

Cleanse the area with Hibiclens using a clean cotton swab.
